'Aad denied the messengers 123 Recall, when their brother Hud said to them: "Have you no fear? 124 Verily I am unto you an apostle trusted. 125 So fear Allah and obey me. 126 I do not ask for any payment for my preaching. I shall receive my reward from the Lord of the Universe. 127 Build ye on every high place a monument for vain delight? 128 "And do you get for yourselves palaces (fine buildings) as if you will live therein for ever. 129 "And when you seize, seize you as tyrants? 130 So guard against (the punishment of) Allah and obey me 131 Keep your duty toward Him Who hath aided you with (the good things) that ye know, 132 amply provided you with flocks, and children, 133 and gardens, and springs: 134 Indeed, I fear for you the punishment of a terrible day." 135 They said, "It is all the same to us whether you advise or are not of the advisors. 136 This is just a habit of antiquated people. 137 They rejected him and We destroyed them. 138 So they gave him the lie, then We destroyed them. Most surely there is a sign in this, but most of them do not believe. 139 And indeed your Lord – only He is the Almighty, the Most Merciful. 140
