Noah (Nooh)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
Verily We! We sent Nuh unto his people saying: warn thy people ere there come unto them torment afflictive. 1 He said, "O my people, indeed I am to you a clear warner, 2 that you should worship God [alone] and be conscious of Him. "Now do pay heed unto me, 3 “He will forgive you some of your sins, and give you respite up to an appointed term; indeed the promise of Allah cannot be averted when it arrives; if only you knew.” 4 He said; 'My Lord, I have called my people by night and by day, 5 "But my call only increases (their) flight (from the Right). 6 And every time I called them that You may forgive them, they thrust their fingers into their ears, and covered themselves with their garments, and became wayward, and behaved with downright insolence. 7 "Then verily, I called to them openly (aloud); 8 Then verily I spake unto them openly and secretly. I also addressed them. 9 “I therefore told them, ‘Seek forgiveness from your Lord; He is indeed Most Forgiving.’ 10 He will send the heaven upon you copiously; 11 And help you with wealth and sons, and make for you gardens, and make for you rivers. 12 What aileth you that ye hope not toward Allah for dignity 13 He has created you by stages! 14 "'Do you not see how God has created seven heavens in full harmony with one another, 15 and placed therein the moon as a light and the sun as a torch. 16 And Allah hath caused you to grow from the earth as a growth. 17 Then He will return you into it and extract you [another] extraction. 18 And God has laid the earth for you as a carpet, 19 That of it ye may traverse the ways open. 20
