In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
By the (Winds) sent forth one after another (to man's profit); 1 And by the winds that blow violently, 2 And those that revive by quickening, 3 thus separating [right and wrong] with all clarity, 4 Then I swear by the angels who bring down the revelation, 5 to serve as an excuse or a warning. 6 Verily that which ye are promised is about to befall. 7 So when the stars are extinguished, 8 And when the sky is riven asunder, 9 And when the mountains are blown away; 10 and when all the apostles are called together at a time appointed... 11 If one asks, "To which day have such calamitous events been postponed?" 12 For the Day of sorting out (the men of Paradise from the men destined for Hell). 13 And what shall teach thee what is the Day of Decision? 14 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 15 Destroyed We not the ancients? 16 and let the latter follow them? 17 So We serve the sinners. 18 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 19 Did We not create you from a worthless water (semen, etc.)? 20 which We then placed in a secure repository 21 For a known term? 22 So We decreed. How excellent are We as decreers! 23 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 24 Have We not made the earth a receptacle? 25 for the living and for the dead? 26 And We placed high mountains as anchors in it and gave you sweet water to drink. 27 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 28 (It will be said unto them:) Depart unto that (doom) which ye used to deny; 29 Depart unto the shadow falling threefold, 30 Neither shady nor protecting against the blazing Fire. 31 Surely it sends up sparks like palaces, 32 and as bright as a herd of yellow camels. 33 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 34 That will be the Day on which they will not (be able to) utter a word, 35 nor shall they be permitted to offer excuses. 36 Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth! 37 This is the Day of Judgement; We will have assembled you and the former peoples. 38 So if you have a plot, use it against Me (Allah)! 39 Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth! 40
