The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
When the sun Kuwwirat (wound round and lost its light and is overthrown). 1 And when the stars shall fall; 2 And when the mountains are removed 3 And when the camels are left untended, 4 when the savage beasts shall be mustered, 5 And when the seas are filled with flame 6 When souls are reunited (with the bodies) 7 And when the female (infant) buried alive (as the pagan Arabs used to do) shall be questioned. 8 For what sin she was killed 9 and when the scrolls of (men's) deeds shall be unfolded, 10 when the sky is unveiled, 11 and when Hell is set ablaze, 12 when Paradise is brought near, 13 (Then) every soul will know what it had prepared (for itself). 14 But nay! I swear by the stars, 15 The planets withdrawing into themselves, 16 and the night as it darkly falls, 17 and the first breath of morning. 18 That this is indeed the word of an honoured Messenger, 19 Endued with Power, with rank before the Lord of the Throne, 20 One (to be) obeyed, and faithful in trust. 21 For, this fellow-man of yours is not a madman: 22 He had surely seen Him on the clear horizon. 23 And this Prophet is not miserly upon the hidden. (Allah gave the knowledge of the hidden to the Holy Prophet – peace and blessings be upon him.) 24 And the Qur'an is not the word of a devil, expelled [from the heavens]. 25 where then are you going? 26 It is naught but a Reminder unto all beings, 27 To whomsoever among you who wills to walk straight, 28 But ye shall not will except as Allah wills,- the Cherisher of the Worlds. 29
