By no means! By the moon, 32 And by the Night as it retreateth, 33 And by oath of the morning, when it spreads light. 34 surely it is one of the greatest things 35 it is a warning to man, 36 To any of you that chooses to go forward (by working righteous deeds), or to remain behind (by commiting sins), 37 Every soul will be a pledge for that which it hath earned, 38 except those of the right hand 39 (They will be) in Gardens (of Delight): they will question each other, 40 Concerning the guilty: 41 “What drove you to Hell?” 42 They said, “We never used to offer the prayer.” 43 and we did not feed the poor, 44 And we used to enter into vain discourse with those who entered into vain discourses. 45 and rejected the Day of Judgment 46 Till the Inevitable came unto us. 47 The intercession of the intercessors shall then be of no avail to them. 48 What aileth them, therefore, that they are from the admonition turning away? 49 like frightened donkeys 50 Fleeing from a hunter, or a lion, or a beast of prey. 51 Is it that everyone of them wants to receive a heavenly book addressed to him personally? 52 Nay, but they do not [believe in and hence, do not] fear the life to come. 53 Yes indeed, this is an advice. 54 and whoever wills may take it to heart. 55 But they [who do not believe in the life to come] will not take it to heart unless God so wills: [for] He is the Fount of all God-consciousness, and the Fount of all forgiveness. 56
