۞ Gather all the wicked together and their comrades, and those they had worshipped 22 Other than God," (the angels will be told), "then show them the way to Hell, 23 And stop them; verily they are to be questioned: 24 "What is the matter with you? Why do you not help one another (as you used to do in the world)?" 25 In fact, on that day they will be submissive. 26 and advance one upon another, asking each other questions. 27 Some [of them] will say: "Behold, you were wont to approach us [deceptively] from the right!" 28 They will reply: "Nay, ye yourselves had no Faith! 29 We had no power over you, but ye were wayward folk. 30 So the sentence of our Lord has come to pass against us: (now) we shall surely taste; 31 For we had led you astray. In fact we ourselves were astray." 32 On that Day they will all share the punishment: 33 This is how We deal with the guilty. 34 for, behold, whenever they were told, "There is no deity save God," they would glory in their arrogance 35 And they said: are we going to abandon our gods on account of a poet distracted? 36 Nay! he (Muhammad SAW) has come with the truth (i.e. Allah's Religion - Islamic Monotheism and this Quran) and he confirms the Messengers (before him who brought Allah's religion - Islamic Monotheism). 37 Verily ye are going to taste a torment afflictive. 38 And you shall not be rewarded except (for) what you did. 39 Except the chosen creatures of God, 40 For them awaits a known provision, 41 fruits -- and they high-honoured 42 In gardens of pleasure, 43 (Sitting) on couches, face to face, 44 A cup will be passed round among them [with a drink] from unsullied springs, 45 white, sparkling (wine), a delight to the drinkers. 46 Neither does it intoxicate, nor give a headache. 47 Theirs shall be wide-eyed maidens with bashful, restrained glances, 48 As if they were [delicate] eggs, well-protected. 49 So one among them turns to the other, questioning. – 50 One of them will say: 'I had a companion 51 Who used to say: "Are you among those who believe (in resurrection after death). 52 That when we have died and become dust and bones, we will indeed be recompensed?'" 53 (The man) said: "Will you look down?" 54 He looked down and saw him in the midst of the Fire. 55 He will say to him: -- By Allah, you almost ruined me. 56 But for my Lord's blessing, I were one of the arraigned. 57 He will ask his companion, "Did you not say that there would only be one death 58 except for our first death? And shall we suffer no chastisement?'” 59 This is indeed the mighty triumph, 60 For the like of this let the workers [on earth] work. 61 Is that (Paradise) better entertainment or the tree of Zaqqum (a horrible tree in Hell)? 62 Surely We have made it to be a trial to the unjust. 63 Verily it is a tree that springeth forth in the bottom of Flaming Fire. 64 The shoots of its fruit-stalks are like the heads of devils: 65 (The people of Hell) will surely eat of it, filling their bellies with it. 66 Then on the top of that they will be given boiling water to drink so that it becomes a mixture (of boiling water and Zaqqum in their bellies). 67 They can only return to hell. 68 They indeed found their fathers astray, 69 so they are rushing to follow in their footsteps. 70 Most of the ancient people had also gone astray. 71 and We sent among them warners; 72 and behold what happened in the end to those that had been warned [to no avail]! 73 EXCEPT for God's true servants, [most people are apt to go astray.] 74
