Hizb 46
< random >
And, verily, Yunus (Jonah) was one of the Messengers. 139 He abandoned his people 140 cast lots, and was among the losers. 141 So the whale swallowed him, for he was blameworthy, 142 And were he not one of those who praise. 143 He would certainly have remained inside the Fish till the Day of Resurrection. 144 ۞ but We cast him upon the wilderness, and he was sick, 145 and We caused a gourd tree to grow over him. 146 We sent him as a messenger to a hundred thousand people or more, 147 And they believed, so We gave them provision till a time. 148 So ask them for a pronouncement -- Has thy Lord daughters, and they sons? 149 or is it that We have created the angels female, and they [who believe them to be divine] have witnessed [that act of creation]? 150 Oh, verily, it is out of their own [inclination to] falsehood that some people assert, 151 That “Allah has offspring”; and indeed, surely, they are liars. 152 "He has chosen daughters in preference to sons"! 153 What aileth you? How judge ye? 154 Will you not, then, bethink yourselves? 155 Or have you received some clear authority? 156 Then bring your Book if you are truthful! 157 They have set up a kinship between Him and the jinn; and the jinn know that they shall be arraigned. 158 Exaltations to Allah above what they describe, 159 all of them except the chosen servants of Allah. 160 So, verily you (pagans) and those whom you worship (idols). 161 you shall not tempt any against Him 162 Except he who is to [enter and] burn in the Hellfire. 163 (Gabriel said to the Prophet): 'Each of us has a known place. 164 We are surely those who are arranged in ranks. 165 We glorify God." 166 They used to say before: 167 "If we had had with us a Book like that of the people of old, 168 we would certainly be true servants of God." 169 But (now) they disbelieve in it, so they will come to know. 170 And, verily, Our Word has gone forth of old for Our slaves, the Messengers, 171 that they shall receive Our help 172 And most surely Our host alone shall be the victorious ones. 173 So you ignore them for a time 174 And watch them and they shall see (the punishment)! 175 Do they wish (indeed) to hurry on our Punishment? 176 When that chastisement will descend upon their courtyard, evil shall that Day be for those who had been warned. 177 So turn thou away from them for a little while, 178 and see; and they too shall soon see. 179 Glorified be your Lord, the Lord of Honour and Power! (He is free) from what they attribute unto Him! 180 And peace be unto the sent ones. 181 It is only God, the Lord of the Universe, who deserves all praise. 182
God the Almighty always says the truth.
