Hast thou considered him who turns his back 33 who at first gave a little, then later held back? 34 Does he [claim to] have knowledge of something that is beyond the reach of human perception, so that he can see [it clearly]? 35 Has he not heard what is contained in the Book of Moses, 36 And with Abraham who kept his word: 37 That no bearer of burden shall bear the burden of another- 38 And that for man shall be naught save that wherefor he endeavoureth. 39 and that in time [the nature of] all his striving will be shown [to him in its true light,] 40 Thereafter he shall be recompensed therefor with the fullest recompense. 41 And that to your Lord is your returning; 42 that it is He who causes to laugh and causes to weep. 43 And that it is He who causes death and gives life 44 and that it is He who creates the two kinds - the male and the female 45 From a sperm-drop when it is emitted 46 and that upon Him is the second creation 47 that it is He who gives wealth and possessions; 48 that He is the Lord of Sirius, 49 It was He who totally destroyed the former 'Ad 50 And Thamud, and did not leave them, 51 and the people of Noah before -- certainly they did exceeding evil, and were insolent 52 It is He who turned upside down the people of Lot 53 And covered them by that which He covered. 54 Then which of the Graces of your Lord (O man!) will you doubt. 55 This is a (Prophet) like that of the ancient warners (Prophets). 56 The Day of Judgment is drawing nearer. 57 none except Allah can disclose it. 58 Does this statement seem strange to them 59 And laugh and not weep? 60 and divert yourselves all the while? 61 So prostrate to Allah and worship [Him]. ۩ 62
