The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ WHEN THE SKY is split asunder, 1 And hearkens to (the Command of) its Lord, and it must needs (do so);- 2 and when the earth is leveled, 3 and casts out all that is within and voids itself, 4 And it hearkeneth to its Lord, and is duteous. 5 O man, you have to strive and go on striving towards your Lord, then will you meet Him. 6 Then as to him who shall be given his book in his right hand 7 He will be judged with an easy account 8 And he will turn to his people, rejoicing! 9 But he who is given the Record behind his back, 10 he will in time pray for utter destruction: 11 And will go into the blazing fire. 12 Verily he was among his people joyous. 13 Verily, he thought that he would never come back (to Us)! 14 Yes indeed; his Lord had sight of him. 15 So I swear by the afterglow of sunset; 16 And the night and that which it drives on, 17 And the moon when at the full, 18 That ye shall journey on from plane to plane. 19 What aileth them, then, that they believe not 20 And when the Qur'an is recited to them do not bow in adoration? ۩ 21 In fact the disbelievers keep denying. 22 And Allah knows best what they hide, 23 Therefore, give them the news of a painful punishment. 24 But for those who believe and do good works; for them there shall be a never-ending reward. 25
