The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
By the heaven and the Morning Star 1 And what will explain to thee what the Night-Visitant is?- 2 (It is) the star of piercing brightness; 3 No human soul but hath a guardian over it. 4 Let the human reflect of what he is created. 5 He is created from a water dripping, 6 issuing from between the loins [of man] and the pelvic arch [of woman]. 7 Now, verily, He [who thus creates man in the first instance] is well able to bring him back [to life] 8 A day when the secrets will be examined. 9 He shall have neither strength nor helper. 10 By the heaven which giveth the returning rain, 11 And the earth which opens up (with verdure), 12 this is indeed a Decisive Word, 13 And it is no joke. 14 Indeed, they are planning a plan, 15 and I am devising guile. 16 So respite thou the infidels - respite them gently, 17
Almighty God's Truth.
