The Heifer (Al-Baqarah)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
Alif-Laam-Meem. (Alphabets of the Arabic language; Allah and to whomever He reveals, know their precise meanings.) 1 That is the Book, wherein is no doubt, a guidance to the godfearing 2 Those who believe in the unseen and keep up prayer and spend out of what We have given them. 3 And who believe in what has been revealed to you, [O Muhammad], and what was revealed before you, and of the Hereafter they are certain [in faith]. 4 These are on a right course from their Lord and these it is that shall be successful. 5 Those who disbelieve, whether you forewarn them or not, they will not believe. 6 God has sealed their hearts and their hearing, and over their eyes is a veil; and awesome suffering awaits them. 7
