(Remember) when Abraham, said to his father and his nation: 'I am quit from what you worship, 26 Save Him Who did create me, for He will surely guide me. 27 And he made it a word remaining among his descendants that they might return [to it]. 28 Nay, but I gave (the good things of this life) to these (polytheists) and their fathers to enjoy, till there came to them the truth (the Quran), and a Messenger (Muhammad SAW) making things clear. 29 And when the truth came to them, they said, 'This is a sorcery, and in it we are unbelievers.' 30 They also said: "Why was this Qur'an not sent down to some great man of the two cities?" 31 Is it they who apportion the mercy of your Lord? It is We who distribute among them their livelihood in the life of this world, and raise some of them above others in rank, so that they may take one another into service; and the mercy of your Lord is better than [the wealth] which they amass. 32 And were it not that mankind would have become one community, We might well have appointed, for those who disbelieve in the Beneficent, roofs of silver for their houses and stairs (of silver) whereby to mount, 33 And for their houses - doors and couches [of silver] upon which to recline 34 and ornaments; surely all this is but the enjoyment of the present life, and the world to come with thy Lord is for the godfearing. 35
