Al-Waaqe'ah 2 of 3
A numerous company from among the first, 39 and a throng of the later folk. 40 As for the People on the Left: how miserable will be the People on the Left! 41 They will find themselves in scorching wind and scalding water, 42 and under the shadow of black smoke, 43 neither cool, neither goodly; 44 They had been affluent before, 45 And were stubborn upon the great sin (of disbelief). 46 And they used to say: "When we die and become dust and bones, shall we then indeed be resurrected? 47 And so will our fathers?" 48 Say: 'The ancients, and the later folk 49 shall all be brought together on an appointed Day. 50 Then you people who had gone astray and rejected the Truth 51 Ye verily will eat of a tree called Zaqqum 52 filling your bellies with it; 53 and drink boiling water on top of that, 54 Drinking the way thirsty camels drink. 55 This shall be their entertainment on the Day of Judgement. 56 We created you. Will ye then admit the truth? 57 Did you ever consider the sperm that you emit? 58 Is it you that create it or are We the creators? 59 We have decreed death to you all, and We are not unable, 60 From replacing you with others or raising you in a way you do not know. 61 And you have already known the first creation, so will you not remember? 62 Have you ever considered the seed which you cast upon the soil? 63 Do you give it its increase, or are We the giver? 64 Were it Our Will, We could crumble it to dry pieces, and you would be regretful (or left in wonderment). 65 Verily we are undone. 66 nay, we are deprived [altogether]." 67 So what is your opinion regarding the water that you drink? 68 Send it down ye from the raincloud, or are We the Sender down? 69 If We willed, We verily could make it salt (and undrinkable), why then do you not give thanks (to Allah)? 70 Have you ever considered the fire which you kindle? 71 Is it you who have produced its tree or is it We who have produced it? 72 We have made it a reminder, and a blessing to the traveler. 73 Wherefore hallow thou the name of thy Lord, the Mighty. 74

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
