Nay, by the Moon 32 And the night when on the wane, 33 And by the Dawn as it shineth forth,- 34 That (Hell) is surely one of the greater (signs), 35 A warning to mankind, 36 To whoever wills among you to proceed or stay behind. 37 Each soul is held in pledge for what it earns, 38 Except those on the right side. 39 [dwelling] In gardens [of paradise,] they will inquire 40 Concerning the guilty: 41 [And asking them], "What put you into Saqar?" 42 They will answer: "We were not among those who prayed; 43 Nor did we feed the wretched. 44 we indulged in vain arguments along with those who indulged in them; 45 And rejected the Day of Judgement as a lie 46 until the Inevitable End [death] overtook us." 47 Then the intercession of the intercessors shall not profit them. 48 If such will be the Day of Judgment, what is the matter with them? Why do they run away from guidance, 49 As they were frightened asses 50 Fleeing away from a lion. 51 Nay, but everyone of them desireth that he should be given open pages (from Allah). 52 This will certainly never be the case! In fact, they are not afraid of the Day of Judgment. 53 Yes indeed, this is an advice. 54 Let him then who heeds remember it. 55 But they will not benefit from it unless Allah Himself so wills. He is worthy to be feared; and He is worthy to forgive (those that fear Him). 56
