The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
I CALL TO witness the heavens and the night Star -- 1 What could let you know what the nightly comer is! 2 The very brightly shining star! 3 There is not a soul that does not have a guardian over it. 4 Let man consider what he was made of: 5 He was created of a gushing fluid, 6 issuing between the loins and the breast-bones. 7 Verily He is Able to restore him, 8 On the Day when secrets are disclosed, 9 he shall have no power, and no helper. 10 By the sky which returns [rain] 11 and the earth, bursting forth with plants! 12 Most surely it is a decisive word, 13 not a flippant jest. 14 They are devising guile, 15 but I too plan against them. 16 So respite the unbelievers; delay with them awhile. 17
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
End of Surah: The Comet (Al-Taareq). Sent down in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
