Al-Duhaa

The Forenoon (Al-Duhaa)

11 verses, revealed in Mecca after Dawn (Al-Fajr) before Cooling the Temper (Al-Sharrhh)

In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace

By the midmorning, 1 and the night when it grows still and dark. 2 Thy Sustainer has not forsaken thee, nor does He scorn thee: 3 and the Hereafter will indeed be better for you than the present life; 4 Your Lord will give you, and you will be satisfied. 5 Did He not find you an orphan and give you shelter? 6 Did He not find thee erring, and guide thee? 7 Did He not find you in want, and make you free from want? 8 Therefore do not treat the orphan with harshness, 9 And as for the petitioner, do not repel [him]. 10 and of thy Sustainer's blessings shalt thou [ever] speak. 11
