T H (Taa Haa)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ Ta Ha 1 We have not sent down the Koran to you for you to be tired, 2 but only as an exhortation for him who fears God; 3 a revelation from Him who has created the earth and the high heavens 4 the Most Gracious, established on the throne of His almightiness? 5 Unto Him belongeth whatsoever is in the heavens and whatsoever is in the earth, and whatsoever is between them, and whatsoever is beneath the sod. 6 Whether you speak aloud [or in a low voice], He hears all, for He knows your secrets and what is even more hidden. 7 God, there is no deity but Him. His are the most excellent names. 8 Has the story of Moses reached you? 9 When he saw a fire and said unto his folk: Lo! Wait! I see a fire afar off. Peradventure I may bring you a brand therefrom or may find guidance at the fire. 10 When he came near the fire he was called, "Moses, 11 Verily I! I am thy Lord: so take off thy shoes; verily thou art into the holy valley, Tuwa. 12 “And I have chosen you, therefore listen carefully to what is divinely revealed to you.” 13 "Verily! I am Allah! La ilaha illa Ana (none has the right to be worshipped but I), so worship Me, and perform As-Salat (Iqamat-as-Salat) for My Remembrance. 14 Verily the Hour (of the great change) is about to come. I keep it secret that every soul may be rewarded for its endeavour. 15 Do not let anyone who does not believe in it and follows his own desires turn you away from it and so bring you to ruin." 16 What is that in your right hand, Moses' 17 He answered: "It is my staff; I lean on it; and with it I beat down leaves for my sheep; and [many] other uses have I for it." 18 Said He: "Throw it down, O Moses!" 19 So he cast it down, and thereupon it turned into a sliding serpent. 20 "Catch it," said He, "and have no fear; We shall revert it to its former state. 21 "Now draw thy hand close to thy side: It shall come forth white (and shining), without harm (or stain),- as another Sign,- 22 for We shall show you some of Our greatest Signs. 23 Go thou unto Pharaoh! Lo! he hath transgressed (the bounds). 24
