The Ant (Al-Naml)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ TA SIN. THESE are the verses of the Qur'an, and collection of explicit laws, 1 A guide: and glad tidings for the believers,- 2 Who keep up prayer and pay the poor-rate, and of the hereafter, they are sure. 3 We make their deeds attractive to those who do not believe in the Hereafter, so that they may wander in perplexity. 4 they are the ones who will have the worst of punishment, and in the Hereafter they will be the greatest losers. 5 Thou receivest the Koran from One All-wise, All-knowing. 6 When Moses said to his household: 'Indeed, I can see a fire far away. I will go and bring you news of it or I will bring you a lighted flame so that you can warm yourselves' 7 But when he came close to it, a call was sounded: "Blessed are all who are within [reach of] this fire, and all who are near it! And limitless in His glory is God, the Sustainer of all the worlds!" 8 [And God spoke thus:] "O Moses! Verily I alone am God, the Almighty, the Wise!" 9 And [he was told], "Throw down your staff." But when he saw it writhing as if it were a snake, he turned in flight and did not return. [Allah said], "O Moses, fear not. Indeed, in My presence the messengers do not fear. 10 and neither need anyone who has done wrong and then has replaced the wrong with good: for, verily, I am much-forgiving, a dispenser of grace! 11 Put your hand in the bosom of your shirt; it will come out white without any blemish. This will be one of nine tokens for the Pharaoh and his people, who are a wicked lot indeed." 12 And when Our signs came as distinct proofs, they said: "This is only magic." 13 And they denied them out of malice and pride, though in their hearts they believed that they were true. So see how was the end of evil-doers! 14
