The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
CONSIDER these [messages] ranged in serried ranks, 1 and restraining [from evil] by a call to restraint, 2 and conveying [to all the world] a reminder: 3 Verily, most surely, your God is One 4 The Lord of the heavens and the earth and all that lies between them, and the Lord of the Easts. 5 Surely We have adorned the nearest heaven with an adornment, the stars, 6 And (there is) a safeguard against every rebellious Shaitan. 7 (So) they should not strain their ears in the direction of the Exalted Assembly but be cast away from every side, 8 With a driving fusillade, and theirs shall be a torment perpetual; 9 except such as snatches a fragment, and he is pursued by a piercing flame. 10 Just ask their opinion: are they the more difficult to create, or the (other) beings We have created? Them have We created out of a sticky clay! 11 Nay, thou marvellest; and they scoff 12 And when they are admonished, they receive not admonition. 13 When they are shown a sign, they scoff at it 14 and say: "This is clearly nothing but [a mortal's] spellbinding eloquence! 15 Is it ever possible that after we die and are reduced to dust and (a skeleton of) bones, we will be raised to life? 16 What, and our fathers, the ancients?' 17 Say thou: and verily ye; shall then be despicable. 18 So it shall only be a single cry, when lo! they shall see. 19 And they will say: Ah! woe be unto us! this is the Day of Requital. 20 “Yes, this is the Day of Final Decision that you used to deny as a lie.” 21
