Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
By the winds (or angels or the Messengers of Allah) sent forth one after another. 1 By the raging hurricanes, 2 and by the scatterers scattering (rain) 3 by (the angels) who make a clear distinction between right and wrong 4 and those (angels) dropping, reminding 5 excusing or warning, 6 Indeed what you are promised, will surely befall. 7 So when the stars are put out, 8 And when the sky is riven asunder, 9 And when the mountains are made into dust and blown away. 10 And when the messengers are brought unto their time appointed - 11 To which Day has this task been deferred? 12 For the Day of Sorting out. 13 And what can make you know what is the Day of Judgement? 14 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 15 Did We not destroy the earlier people? 16 Then did We follow them up with later ones. 17 As such shall We deal with the sinners. 18 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 19 Did We not create you from a humble fluid, 20 Then We lodged you in a secure place (the womb) 21 for an appointed term? 22 So We proportion it-- how well are We at proportioning (things). 23 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 24 Made We not the earth to be a housing 25 The living and the dead, 26 And have placed therein firm and tall mountains and given you to drink of water fresh 27 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 28 'Depart unto that which ye were wont to belie. 29 Depart unto the shadow three branched: 30 that will offer no [cooling] shade and will be of no avail against the flame 31 Verily! It (Hell) throws sparks (huge) as Al-Qasr [a fort or a Qasr (huge log of wood)], 32 (Or) as it might be camels of bright yellow hue. 33 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth 34 This is a Day whereon they shall not be able to speak. 35 nor shall they be given permission, so that they can apologize. 36 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 37 Such is the Day of Decision. We will gather you with the ancients. 38 If now ye have any wit, outwit Me. 39 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 40
