The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
By the (angels) who tear out (the souls of the wicked) with violence; 1 By those (angels) who gently take out (the souls of the believers); 2 And those who glide swimmingly, 3 By the angels hastening, 4 Then those who regulate the affair. 5 [HENCE, think of] the Day when a violent convulsion will convulse [the world,] 6 and the second blast follows it, 7 On that day hearts beat painfully 8 Their looks will be downcast. 9 The disbelievers say, “Will we really return to our former state?” 10 Even after we are crumbled bones? 11 They said: That then would be a return occasioning loss. 12 However, it will only take a single blast 13 and lo, they will all be in the open plain. 14 Has Moses' story reached you? 15 When his Lord called upon him in the holy valley, twice, 16 'Go to Pharaoh; he has waxed insolent. 17 And say to him, 'Would you [be willing to] purify yourself 18 And let me guide you to your Lord so you would fear [Him]?'" 19 And he showed him the tremendous token. 20 but he denied it and refused [the faith]. 21 Then turned he away in haste, 22 And he summoned all his people, 23 Saying: "I am alone your lord, the highest of them all." 24 Thereupon Allah seized him for the chastisement of the World to Come as well as of the present. 25 Verily herein is lesson for him who feareth. 26
