He Frowned ('Abasa)
42 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Stars (Al-Najm) before Destiny (Al-Qadr)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ HE FROWNED and turned away 1 Because a blind man came to him. 2 But what would make you perceive, [O Muhammad], that perhaps he might be purified 3 Or that he might receive admonition, and that the admonition might profit him? 4 But the self-sufficient, 5 you eagerly attended to him -- 6 Though it is no blame to thee if he grow not (in spiritual understanding). 7 And as for him who cometh unto thee running, 8 And is also fearful (of God), 9 So you leave him, and are engrossed elsewhere! 10 By no means (should it be so)! For it is indeed a Message of instruction: 11 (and whoso wills, shall remember it) 12 in [the light of His] revelations blest with dignity, 13 Exalted (in dignity), kept pure and holy, 14 by the hands of scribes 15 and angelic scribes. 16 May (the disbelieving) human being be condemned! What makes him disbelieve? 17 From what thing doth He create him? 18 Of a sperm-drop He created him, and determined him, 19 and then made the course of life easy for him, 20 Then He caused him to die and made him to be buried. 21 Then, when He willed, He brought him out. (As during the night of Holy Prophet’s ascension, when all the Prophets gathered behind him in the Al Aqsa mosque in Jerusalem. Or when Allah will raise everyone on the Day of Resurrection.) 22 By no means hath he fulfilled what Allah hath commanded him. 23 Let man reflect on the food he eats. 24 How We pour water in showers 25 Then We cleave the earth, cleaving (it) asunder, 26 to yield therein corn, 27 And grapes and herbage 28 and olive trees and date-palms, 29 And thick gardens, 30 and fruits and pastures 31 A provision for you and for your cattle. 32 At length, when there comes the Deafening Noise,- 33 On the Day a man will flee from his brother 34 And from his mother and his father, 35 And his wife and his sons; 36 on that Day every man among them will have enough concern of his own -- 37 Some faces on that day will be radiant, 38 Laughing, rejoicing at good news (of Paradise). 39 but some faces will be covered with dust 40 Blackness will cover them. 41 Such will be the Kafarah (disbelievers in Allah, in His Oneness, and in His Messenger Muhammad (Peace be upon him), etc.), the Fajarah (wicked evil doers). 42
Almighty Allah's Truth.
