The News (Al-Naba')
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ Concerning what are they disputing? 1 About the great tidings! 2 Concerning which they are in disagreement. 3 No indeed; they shall soon know! 4 Then, no! They are going to know. 5 Have We not spread the earth like a bed, 6 and the mountains as pegs (to anchor the earth)? 7 And We have created you in pairs, 8 And We have made your sleep as a rest. 9 And made the night a cover. 10 and made the day [a symbol of] life. 11 And We built above you seven strong ones, 12 And placed a lamp therein brightly burning. 13 and sent down heavy rains from the clouds 14 Thereby to produce grain and plant, 15 and gardens dense with follage. 16 Surely the day of decision is (a day) appointed: 17 The day on which the trumpet shall be blown so you shall come forth in hosts, 18 And the heaven shall be opened, and it will become as gates, 19 and the mountains are set in motion, and become a vapour. 20 Hell will lie in wait (for its prey). 21 for the insolent a resort, 22 Where they will remain for aeons, 23 They will not feel cold nor taste any drink 24 except boiling water and pus, 25 Requital corresponding. 26 Indeed they had no fear of the account. 27 But they belied Our Ayat (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, and that which Our Prophet (Peace be upon him) brought) completely. 28 And everything We have recorded in a book. 29 "So taste ye (the fruits of your deeds); for no increase shall We grant you, except in Punishment." 30
