Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ No! I swear by the Day of Resurrection. 1 and nay, I swear by the self-reproaching soul! 2 Does man (a disbeliever) think that We shall not assemble his bones? 3 Yea, verily. We are Able to restore his very fingers! 4 None the less man chooses to deny what lies ahead of him, 5 He asks: “When will the Day of Resurrection be?” 6 So when the sight becomes dazed, 7 The moon eclipsed, 8 and the sun and the moon are brought together 9 people will say, "Is there anywhere to run away?" 10 No! There is no refuge. 11 With your Lord alone will be the retreat on that day. 12 On that day, man will be informed of all what he sent ahead and left behind. 13 Nay! Man will be a witness against himself [as his body parts (skin, hands, legs, etc.) will speak about his deeds]. 14 even though he might make up excuses. 15 Move not your tongue concerning (the Quran, O Muhammad SAW) to make haste therewith. 16 Ours it is to gather it, and to recite it. 17 When We have recited it, follow its words attentively; 18 Then lo! upon Us (resteth) the explanation thereof. 19 Nay, (ye men!) but ye love the fleeting life, 20 And neglect the Hereafter. 21 How many faces will be refulgent on that Day, 22 Waiting for their Lord. 23 and some faces on that Day will be gloomy, 24 Imagining that there will befall them a waiste-breaking calomity. 25 But when [man's soul] reaches the throat, 26 and it is said: “Is there any enchanter who can step forward and help (by his chanting)?” 27 And the dying one is certain that it is the [time of] separation 28 And leg will be joined with another leg (shrouded) 29 on that Day he will be driven towards your Lord! 30
