The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the pluckers (the angels of death), violently plucking (the souls of the unbelievers), 1 And [by] those who remove with ease 2 And by those that swim along (i.e. angels or planets in their orbits, etc.). 3 Then press forward as in a race, 4 and by those who regulate events. 5 Upon the day when the first blast shivers 6 and the second blast follows it, 7 hearts will be throbbing, 8 and their eyes shall be humbled. 9 (Now) they are saying: Shall we really be restored to our first state 10 What, when we are bones old and wasted?' 11 They said, “So this return is an obvious loss!” 12 But it will be only a single blow, 13 and then, lo, they will be fully awakened [to the truth]! 14 HAS THE STORY of Moses ever come within thy ken. 15 When his Lord called to him in Tuwa's holy vale? 16 "Go to Pharaoh. Indeed, he has transgressed. 17 Then say: Have you (a desire) to purify yourself: 18 Do you want me to guide you to your Lord, so that you should fear Him?'" 19 So he showed him the great sign, 20 But he rejected (the truth) and disobeyed. 21 Then he turned his back, striving hard (against Allah). 22 then he mustered 23 then said: 'I am your lord, the most high' 24 you pay attention 25 Surely there is a great lesson in it for whoever would fear (Allah). 26
