The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Woe to those that deal in fraud,- 1 Those who, when they take by measure from mankind, exact the full, 2 but, when they measure for them or weigh for them, do skimp. 3 Do such (men) not consider that they will be raised again 4 For a tremendous Day - 5 a day when mankind shall stand before the Lord of all Being? 6 No indeed; the Book of the libertines is in Sijjin; 7 And what will make you know what the Sijjin is? 8 (It is) a marked Book. 9 Woe, that Day, to the deniers, 10 those who deny the Day of Judgement. 11 Which none denieth save each criminal transgressor, 12 When Our verses are recited to him, he says: 'Fictitious tales of the ancients' 13 By no means! but on their hearts is the stain of the (ill) which they do! 14 Nay, verily, from [the grace of] their Sustainer shall they on that Day be debarred; 15 Further, they will enter the Fire of Hell. 16 Then it will be said: 'this is that which ye were wont to belie.' 17 Nay! Most surely the record of the righteous shall be in the Iliyin. 18 And what do you know what the Record of the exalted ones is? 19 It is a comprehensively written Book (of records). 20 To which bear witness those brought nigh. 21 Verily the virtuous shall be in Bliss; 22 On Thrones (of Dignity) will they command a sight (of all things): 23 You will recognise in their faces the brightness of delight. 24 They are made to quaff of a pure drink that is sealed (to others). 25 The sealing of it is (with) musk; and for that let the aspirers aspire. 26 and its mixture is Tasneem, 27 A spring from which those near [to Allah] drink. 28 Indeed, those who committed crimes used to laugh at those who believed. 29 when they passed by them they winked, 30 And when they went back to their people turned to make fun of them; 31 And when they saw them, they said: "They have indeed gone astray." 32 (they said so although) they had not been appointed watchers over them. 33 so today those who believe shall [be able to] laugh at those who denied the truth 34 On Thrones (of Dignity) they will command (a sight) (of all things). 35 Will not the disbelievers then be duly recompensed for their laughing at the believers? 36
