And when your Lord called out to Musa, saying: Go to the unjust people, 10 "The people of the Pharaoh: will they not fear Allah?" 11 'My Lord' he replied, 'I fear they will belie me 12 And I shall be embarrassed, and my tongue will not speak plainly, therefor send for Aaron (to help me). 13 "And (further), they have a charge of crime against me; and I fear they may slay me." 14 He said: "Certainly not! So go both of you with Our Signs. We shall be with you listening to everything. 15 go both to Pharaoh and both of you say to him: 'We are (each) a Messenger from the Lord of all the Worlds. 16 ‘That you let the Descendants of Israel go with us.’” 17 (The Pharaoh) said: "Did we not bring you up as a child? And you lived a number of years of your life with us. 18 and you did the deed which you did. You are certainly ungrateful." 19 Moses said: "I did it then, when I was in error. 20 and I fled from you because I feared you. Then my Lord granted me wisdom and made me one of the messengers. 21 And this is the past favour wherewith thou reproachest me: that thou hast enslaved the Children of Israel. 22 Pharaoh said: "And what is the 'Lord and Cherisher of the worlds'?" 23 'He' (Moses) replied: 'is the Lord of the heavens and the earth and all that is between them, if you believe' 24 Pharaoh said to those around him, "Did you hear?" 25 He said: Your Lord and the Lord of your fathers. 26 The Pharaoh said, "The Messenger who has been sent to you is certainly insane". 27 Moses continued: "(He is) the Lord of the east and the west, and all between them. If you only had any understanding!" 28 (Pharaoh) said: "If thou dost put forward any god other than me, I will certainly put thee in prison!" 29 [Moses] said, "Even if I brought you proof manifest?" 30 [Pharaoh] answered: "Produce it, then, if thou art a man of truth!" 31 Then he flung down his staff and it became a serpent manifest, 32 And he drew out his hand, and behold, it was white to all beholders! 33
