The Column (Al-Suff)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
All that is in the heavens and the earth glorify God. He is the Majestic and All-wise. 1 O you who believe! Why do you say that which you do not do? 2 How despicable it is in the sight of Allah that you may preach what you do not practice. 3 Surely God loves those who fight in His cause in full formations as though they were a compact wall. 4 And (remember) when Moses said unto his people: O my people! Why persecute ye me, when ye well know that I am Allah's messenger unto you? So when they went astray Allah sent their hearts astray. And Allah guideth not the evil-living folk. 5 And remember, Jesus, the son of Mary, said: "O Children of Israel! I am the messenger of Allah (sent) to you, confirming the Law (which came) before me, and giving Glad Tidings of a Messenger to come after me, whose name shall be Ahmad." But when he came to them with Clear Signs, they said, "this is evident sorcery!" 6 And who does greater evil than he who forges against God falsehood, when he is being called unto surrender? And God guides never the people of the evildoers. 7 they wish to put His light out with their mouths. But He will perfect His light, much as those who deny the truth may dislike it; 8 It is He who has sent His Messenger with guidance and the Religion of Truth, so that He raises it above all religions, much as the unbelievers dislike it. 9
