The Forenoon (Al-Duhaa)
11 verses, revealed in Mecca after Dawn (Al-Fajr) before Cooling the Temper (Al-Sharrhh)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the bright forenoon, 1 By the night when it darkeneth, 2 Thy Lord hath not forsaken thee nor doth He hate thee, 3 And verily the Hereafter will be better for thee than the present. 4 And soon will thy Guardian-Lord give thee (that wherewith) thou shalt be well-pleased. 5 Did He not find you an orphan, so provided you shelter? 6 And He found you unaware (of the Quran, its legal laws, and Prophethood, etc.) and guided you? 7 Did He not find you in want, and make you free from want? 8 Therefor the orphan oppress not, 9 and chide not him who asks, 10 but proclaim the blessings of your Lord. 11
