Thorns (Al-Masad)
5 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Key (Al-Faatehah) before The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
DESTROYED WILL BE the hands of Abu Lahab, and he himself will perish. 1 His wealth avails him not, neither what he has earned; 2 He will suffer in a blazing fire 3 And his wife too, who carries wood (thorns of Sadan which she used to put on the way of the Prophet (Peace be upon him), or use to slander him). 4 upon her neck a rope of palm-fibre. 5
True are the words of God the Almighty.
