The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By those who range themselves in ranks, 1 and restraining [from evil] by a call to restraint, 2 and conveying [to all the world] a reminder: 3 Verily your God is One. 4 Lord of the heavens and the earth and whatsoever is in-between the twain, and Lord of the easts. 5 Verily We! We have adorned the nearest heaven with an adornment: the stars. 6 And have placed therein a guard against any satan froward. 7 They cannot listen to the speech of those on higher elevations and they are targeted from every side. 8 To make them flee, and for them is a never-ending punishment. 9 Except such as snatch away something by stealth, and they are pursued by a flaming fire, of piercing brightness. 10 Then inquire of them, [O Muhammad], "Are they a stronger [or more difficult] creation or those [others] We have created?" Indeed, We created men from sticky clay. 11 No wonder you are surprised as they laugh with scorn. 12 And heed not when they are reminded, 13 and if they see any Sign, they laugh it away 14 and say: “This is nothing but plain sorcery. 15 When we are dead and have become dust and bones, shall we then, forsooth, be raised (again)? 16 And so also shall our forefathers of yore be raised to life?” 17 Say: "Yea, indeed - and most abject will you then be!" 18 So that is just a single jolt, thereupon they will begin staring. 19 And they shall say: O woe to us! this is the day of requital. 20 “Yes, this is the Day of Final Decision that you used to deny as a lie.” 21
