The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
When the sun is wound up; 1 And when the stars shall dart down, 2 and when the mountains are made to vanish, 3 and when she-camels big with young, about to give birth, are left untended, 4 And when the wild beasts are gathered 5 And when the seas rise, 6 And when the souls shall be joined with their bodies; 7 When the female (infant), buried alive, is questioned - 8 for what offence was she killed? 9 And when the Records of Account are laid bare. 10 And when the heaven shall be stripped off and taken away from its place; 11 and Hell is stoked, 12 and Paradise brought nigh: 13 Every soul will then come know what it has brought. 14 No! I swear by the slinkers, 15 The planets withdrawing into themselves, 16 The closing night, 17 And by the dawn as it brightens; 18 Verily, this is the Word (this Quran brought by) a most honourable messenger [Jibrael (Gabriel), from Allah to the Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him)]. 19 who is honored in the presence of the Lord of the Throne, 20 With authority there, (and) faithful to his trust. 21 Your companion is not possessed; 22 He had surely seen Him on the clear horizon. 23 and he is not one to begrudge others the knowledge [of whatever has been revealed to him] out of that which is beyond the reach of human Perception. 24 And it (the Quran) is not the word of the outcast Shaitan (Satan). 25 Whither then will you go? 26 It is naught but a reminder for the nations, 27 for whosoever of you would go straight, 28 And you will not, unless (it be) that Allah wills, the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists). 29
