The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
I swear by the heaven and the comer by night; 1 - Ah, what will tell thee what the Morning Star is! 2 - The piercing Star! 3 No human soul but hath a guardian over it. 4 Let man consider what he was made of: 5 He is created from a gushing fluid 6 which comes out of the loins and ribs. 7 Surely He is able to bring him back 8 On the Day when secrets are disclosed, 9 when he will be helpless, with no supporter. 10 So I call to witness the rain-producing sky, 11 And [by] the earth which cracks open, 12 Verily! This (the Quran) is the Word that separates (the truth from falsehood, and commands strict legal laws for mankind to cut the roots of evil). 13 and is no idle tale. 14 Indeed, they are planning a plan, 15 But I too am devising a plan. 16 So give a respite to the disbelievers. Deal thou gently with them for a while. 17
God the Almighty always says the truth.
