Al-Duhaa
The Forenoon (Al-Duhaa)
11 verses, revealed in Mecca after Dawn (Al-Fajr) before Cooling the Temper (Al-Sharrhh)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the midday brightness 1 and the brooding night! 2 Thy Lord has neither forsaken thee nor hates thee 3 for, indeed, the life to come will be better for thee than this earlier part [of thy life]! 4 And soon will your Lord give you so that you shall be well pleased. 5 Did He not find you an orphan, so provided you shelter? 6 Did He not find thee erring, and guide thee? 7 And He found thee in need, and made thee independent. 8 Therefore do not treat the orphan with harshness, 9 Therefor the beggar drive not away, 10 and as for thy Lord's blessing, declare it. 11
True are the words of God the Almighty.
