The All High (Al-A'alaa)
19 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Rolling (Al-Takweer) before The Night (Al-Layl)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ EXTOL the limitless glory of thy Sustainer's name: [the glory of] the Al-Highest, 1 Who has created (all things) proportionately, 2 Who measureth, then guideth; 3 who brings forth green pasture, 4 Then reduces them to rusty rubbish. 5 We shall now make you read (O dear Prophet Mohammed peace and blessings be upon him), so you will not forget. 6 Save that which Allah willeth. Lo! He knoweth the disclosed and that which still is hidden; 7 And We shall make easy for you (O Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) the easy way (i.e. the doing of righteous deeds). 8 So remind them if reminder is profitable: 9 and he who fears shall remember, 10 But the most hapless will flout it, 11 who will roast in the Great Fire, 12 In which he will neither die nor live. 13 To happiness [in the life to come] will indeed attain he who attains to purity [in this world,] 14 and mentions the Name of his Lord, and prays. 15 But you prefer the worldly life, 16 and the world to come is better, and more enduring. 17 This is what is written in the ancient heavenly Books, 18 the Scriptures of Abraham and Moses. 19
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
