Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Has the news of the overwhelming event reached you? 1 Many faces will be contrite on that day, 2 troubled and tired as a result of their deeds in the past. 3 they shall enter a burning Fire 4 They will be given to drink from a boiling spring, 5 they shall have no food but thorns, 6 unfattening, unappeasing hunger. 7 Faces on that day jocund, 8 well-pleased with [the fruit of] their striving, 9 In a Garden on high, 10 Wherein you shall not hear vain talk. 11 In it is a flowing spring. 12 and couches raised high, 13 and prepared goblets, 14 Cushions arranged, 15 and carpets spread out. 16 Will they not regard the camels, how they are created? 17 how heaven was lifted up, 18 And at the mountains, how they are rooted and fixed firm? 19 And at the earth, how it is spread out? 20 Remind them; you are surely a reminder. 21 and are not invested with the authority to compel them. 22 But he who turns his back, and disbelieves, 23 In which case he will be punished by God with the severest punishment. 24 To Us is surely their returning; 25 Then indeed only upon Us is their reckoning. 26
