The News (Al-Naba')
40 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Heights (Al-Ma'aarej) before The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ ABOUT WHAT do they [most often] ask one another? 1 Of the mighty tiding 2 Concerning which they differ. 3 Surely yes, they will soon come to know! 4 Verily, verily they shall soon (come to) know! 5 Have We not made the earth as a cradle 6 And the mountains as pegs? 7 And (have We not) created you in pairs, 8 And made sleep for you to rest, 9 And have made the night as a covering (through its darkness), 10 And the day for seeking livelihood. 11 And We have built above you seven strong (heavens), 12 and We have set therein a glowing lamp. 13 And have sent down from the rainy clouds abundant water. 14 That We may bring forth thereby grain and vegetation 15 And gardens of thick foliage. 16 Surely, the Day of Judgement has an appointed time. 17 It is a Day whereon the trumpet will be blown, and ye will come in multitudes. 18 And the heaven is opened and becometh as gates, 19 And the mountains shall be moved off so that they shall remain a mere semblance. 20 Surely hell lies in wait, 21 a home for the transgressors, 22 therein they shall abide for ages, 23 Finding neither sleep nor any thing to drink 24 except boiling water and pus, 25 An exact recompense (according to their evil crimes). 26 They indeed hoped not for a reckoning, 27 And they denied Our signs to the extreme. 28 Everything have We recorded in a Book. 29 [So We shall say], "Taste, then, [the fruit of your evil doings,] for now We shall bestow on you nothing but more and more suffering!" 30

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
