The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
When the sun Kuwwirat (wound round and lost its light and is overthrown). 1 And when the stars fall down. 2 and the mountains have been taken, 3 when ten-month pregnant camels are left untended, 4 and when all beasts are gathered together, 5 And when the seas shall be filled, 6 And when the souls shall be joined with their bodies; 7 and when the girl-child buried alive shall be asked: 8 such as, "For what crime were they murdered?" 9 when the scrolls are unrolled, 10 And when the sky is stripped away 11 And when the Scorch shall be made to blaze, 12 And when the Garden is brought nigh, 13 [on that Day] every human being will come to know what he has prepared [for himself]. 14 So by oath of those that revolve. (The planets.) 15 that hide, 16 by the night swarming, 17 and brightening morning, 18 That this is indeed the word of an honoured Messenger, 19 The mighty, the honoured in the presence of the Lord of the Throne. 20 obeyed, moreover trusty. 21 (O people of Makkah), your companion is not mad; 22 He certainly saw him (Gabriel) high up on the horizon in his original form 23 And Muhammad is not a withholder of [knowledge of] the unseen. 24 Nor is this the word of an outcast devil. 25 Whither then will you go? 26 This [message] is no less than a reminder to all mankind 27 So let those who want, choose the right guidance 28 And ye will not, unless (it be) that Allah willeth, the Lord of Creation. 29
