The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
By oath of the heaven, and by oath of the nightly arriver. 1 And what can make you know what is the night comer? 2 The piercing star! 3 [for] no human being has ever been left unguarded. 4 So let man observe from what he was created. 5 He was created of a gushing fluid, 6 issuing between the loins and the breast-bones. 7 God has all power to resurrect him. 8 On the day when all secrets will be made public, 9 Then will he have no might nor any helper. 10 I swear by the raingiving heavens, 11 And by the Earth which opens out (for the gushing of springs or the sprouting of vegetation),- 12 this is indeed a Decisive Word, 13 It is no pleasantry. 14 Verily, they are but plotting a plot (against you O Muhammad (Peace be upon him)). 15 But I am planning a plan. 16 So bear with unbelievers with patience, and give them respite for a while. 17
God the Almighty always says the truth.
