O believers, fight the unbelievers who are near to you; and let them find in you a harshness; and know that God is with the godfearing. 123 And whenever a new surah is revealed some of the hypocrites ask the believers (in jest): "Whose faith has increased because of this?" As for those who believe, it will certainly increase their faith, and they are joyful over that. 124 But as for those in whose heart is sickness, them it has increased in abomination added to their abomination, and they have died while they were unbelievers. 125 See they not that they are tried every year once or twice? Yet they turn not in repentance, and they take no heed. 126 and whenever a surah is bestowed from on high, they look at one another [and say, as it were,] "Is there anyone who can see what is in your hearts?" - and then they turn away. God has turned their hearts away [from the truth] - for they are people who will not grasp it. 127 Now hath come unto you a Messenger from amongst yourselves: it grieves him that ye should perish: ardently anxious is he over you: to the Believers is he most kind and merciful. 128 Now, if they turn away (O Muhammad) say: Allah sufficeth me. There is no Allah save Him. In Him have I put my trust, and He is Lord of the Tremendous Throne. 129
