The people of Lot cried lies to the Envoys 160 When their fellowman Lut said to them, “Do you not fear?” 161 Surely I am a faithful apostle to you; 162 So fear Allah and obey me. 163 "No reward do I ask of you for it: my reward is only from the lord of the Worlds. 164 “What! Among all the creatures, you commit the immoral acts with men?” 165 Leaving the consorts your Lord has made for you? But you are a people who exceed the bounds." 166 Said they: "Indeed, If thou desist not, O Lot, thou wilt most certainly be expelled [from this township]!" 167 He said: verily I am of those who abhor your work. 168 My Lord! deliver me and my household from that which they work. 169 So We delivered him and his people all together, 170 Except one old woman who remained behind. 171 We then destroyed the others. 172 by pouring upon them a terrible shower of rain. How evil was the rain for those who had been warned! 173 Indeed in this is a sign; and most of them were not Muslims. 174 your Lord is the Mighty One, the Merciful. 175
