Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By oath of those which carry away while dispersing. 1 And (the clouds) that bear heavy weight of water; 2 Then those (ships) that glide easily, 3 And those [angels] apportioning [each] matter, 4 that what you are promised is certainly true 5 the Judgement will surely come to pass -- 6 By the beautiful heavens, 7 Verily, [O men,] you are deeply at variance as to what to believe: 8 and are turned away from him who is turned. 9 Perish the conjecturers 10 who are heedless in the immersion. 11 They ask: When is the Day of Judgment? 12 (It is) the day when they will be tormented at the Fire, 13 And it will be said to them, “Taste your own roasting; this is what you were impatient for.” 14 The righteous shall live among gardens and fountains, 15 Accepting the rewards given by their Lord; they were indeed virtuous before this. 16 They slept but a little at night, 17 And in the hours before dawn they would ask forgiveness, 18 and in their wealth was a share for whosoever asked and for whosoever was prevented. 19 And in the earth are signs for those who are certain. 20 There is also evidence of the Truth within your own selves. Will you then not see? 21 And in the heaven lies your sustenance, and the promise you are given. 22 By the Lord of the heaven and the earth, it is certainly the truth. It is as true as your ability to speak. 23
