Are ye the harder to create, or is the heaven that He built? 27 He raised its roof and made it proper. 28 And He made its night dark, and started its light. 29 And afterwards spread out the earth. 30 and then brought from it its water and pastures. 31 and firmly fixed in it mountains; 32 an enjoyment for you and your herds. 33 On the day when the great calamity comes, 34 On that day man will recall all what he strove for. 35 And the Scorch will be made apparent to any one who beholdeth. 36 Then, as for him who rebelled 37 preferring the present life, 38 Then indeed hell only is his destination. 39 But unto him who shall have stood in fear of his Sustainer's Presence, and held back his inner self from base desires, 40 Then surely the garden-- that is the abode. 41 THEY WILL ASK thee [O Prophet] about the Last Hour: "When will it come to pass?" 42 [But] how couldst thou tell anything about it, 43 To your Lord belongs (the knowledge of) the term thereof? 44 You are only a warner to him who has a fear of it. 45 On the Day whereon they behold it, it will appear to them as though they had not tarried save an evening or the morn thereof. 46
