And indeed Yunus is one of the Noble Messengers. 139 Recall what time he ran away unto a laden ship. 140 Then he joined the lots, and was of the condemned. 141 The fish swallowed him up and he deserved (all this). 142 And had he not been of those who exalt Allah, 143 He would certainly have remained inside the Fish till the Day of Resurrection. 144 ۞ But We threw him onto the open shore while he was ill. 145 And We caused a plant of gourd to grow over him. 146 Then We sent him unto a hundred thousand, or more, 147 So they accepted faith We therefore gave them usage for a while. 148 Now ask them (O Muhammad SAW): "Are there (only) daughters for your Lord and sons for them?" 149 Or created We the angels females while they were witnesses? 150 No indeed! It is one of their fabrications when they say: 151 God hath begotten. Verily they are the liars. 152 Does He prefer sons to daughters? 153 What ails you then, how you judge? 154 Will you not then mind? 155 Do you have clear authority? 156 Produce, then, that divine writ of yours, if you are speaking the truth! 157 They have established a kinship between Allah and the angels; and the angels know well that these people will be arraigned (as culprits). 158 Exalted is Allah above what they describe, 159 Except the slaves of Allah, whom He choses (for His Mercy i.e. true believers of Islamic Monotheism who do not attribute false things unto Allah). 160 For, verily, neither ye nor those ye worship- 161 Can mislead anyone away from Him, 162 except those who are doomed to enter hell. 163 [The angels say], "There is not among us any except that he has a known position. 164 we are those who stand ranged in ranks. 165 and, verily, we too extol His limitless glory!" 166 And indeed they used to say: 167 'If only we had a reminder from the ancients, 168 we would have been sincere worshipers of Allah' 169 Yet now (that it has come) they refuse to believe in it; but they will come to know soon. 170 And Our word has already preceded for Our servants, the messengers, 171 That verily they! they shall be made triumphant. 172 and Our armies shall be the victors. 173 So turn away from them for a while. 174 And watch them, for they will soon see. 175 Do they, then, [really] wish that Our chastisement be hastened on? 176 But when it shall descend in their court, evil shall then be the morning of the warned ones. 177 So turn thou from them for a while, 178 and see, soon they shall see! 179 Exalted is your Lord, the Lord of might, above what they describe. 180 Peace be on the Messengers. 181 And praise belongs to Allah, Lord of the Worlds. 182
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
End of Surah: The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat). Sent down in Mecca after Animals (Al-An 'aam) before Luqmaan (Luqmaan)
