Have you seen the one who turned away 33 Gives a little, then hardens (his heart)? 34 Or, does he possess knowledge of the Unseen, and can therefore see? 35 Has he not heard what is contained in the Book of Moses, 36 and Abraham, who paid his debt in full? 37 That no bearer of burdens will bear the burden of another 38 and that man shall have only that for which he strives; 39 And that his effort will be seen. 40 then, he shall be recompensed for it in full repayment 41 and that the final end is unto thy Lord, 42 And that He it is Who makes (men) laugh and makes (them) weep; 43 And that it is He who causes death and gives life 44 That He did create in pairs,- male and female, 45 From a seed when lodged (in its place); 46 and that He will bring about the Second Creation; 47 And that it is He who enriches and suffices 48 that He is the Lord of Sirius. 49 and that it is He who destroyed the ancient [tribes of] Ad 50 And destroyed the tribe of Thamud, not sparing anyone? 51 And before them, the people of Nooh? Indeed they were more unjust and more rebellious than these! 52 And the subverted cities He overthrew. 53 So they were covered with whatever covered them? 54 About which, then, of thy Sustainer's powers canst thou [still] remain in doubt? 55 He (Prophet Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him) is a Herald of Warning, like the former Heralds of Warning. 56 The Imminent is imminent; 57 and none but Allah can avert it. 58 Marvel ye then at this statement, 59 And laugh and not weep? 60 While you are indulging in varieties. 61 So prostrate to Allah and worship [Him]. ۩ 62
