The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
96 verses, revealed in Mecca after T H (Taa Haa) before The Poets (Alshu'araa')
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ When the great event comes to pass, 1 (and none denies its descending) 2 Abasing (some), exalting (others); 3 When the earth shall be shaken to its depths, 4 and the mountains fragmented 5 So they will become like fine dust, scattered in a shaft of light. 6 you shall be divided into three parties, 7 Then (as to) the companions of the right hand; how happy are the companions of the right hand! 8 Those on the Left -- how unlucky are those on the Left! 9 The foremost ones (in faith and virtue) - the foremost ones in receiving their reward. 10 Who will be honoured 11 In gardens of bliss [will they dwell] 12 A throng of the ancients, 13 And a few from the later generations. 14 on lavish couches 15 reclining on them facing each other; 16 There shall go round unto them youths ever-young. 17 with goblets, jugs and cups of crystal clear wine 18 Unheady, uninebriating; 19 And fruit that they prefer 20 and such flesh of fowl as they desire, 21 And (there will be) Houris (fair females) with wide, lovely eyes (as wives for the pious), 22 The like of the hidden pearls: 23 as reward for their deeds. 24 They shall not hear therein vain or sinful discourse, 25 But only the saying of: Salam!, Salam! (greetings with peace)! 26 Those on the Right, how fortunate are those on the Right! 27 They shall be in the midst of thornless lote trees, 28 And [banana] trees layered [with fruit] 29 and spreading shade 30 and waters gushing, 31 and fruits abounding 32 undiminished and never denied 33 and upraised couches. 34 Surely We have made them to grow into a (new) growth, 35 Then We have made them virgins, 36 chastely amorous, 37 For those on the right hand; 38

When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
