Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ I swear by the Day of Resurrection 1 No! I swear by the reproachful soul! 2 Does man imagine that We will not be able to bring his bones together again? 3 Yea! WE are Able to put together evenly his finger-tips. 4 Yet man is sceptical of what is right before him. 5 He asketh: When will be this Day of Resurrection? 6 but when the sight is dazed 7 The moon eclipsed, 8 and the sun and moon are brought together, 9 That Day will Man say: "Where is the refuge?" 10 By no means! No place of safety! 11 Before thy Lord (alone), that Day will be the place of rest. 12 Man will be informed that Day of what he sent ahead and kept back. 13 Indeed, man shall be a witness against himself, 14 Although he tender his excuses. 15 Move not your tongue with it, [O Muhammad], to hasten with recitation of the Qur'an. 16 Ours it is to gather it, and to recite it. 17 So when We have recited it [through Gabriel], then follow its recitation. 18 Then lo! upon Us (resteth) the explanation thereof. 19 No! But you love the immediate 20 And leave the Hereafter. 21 How many faces will be refulgent on that Day, 22 Waiting for their Lord. 23 And (other) faces on that day shall be gloomy, 24 knowing that a crushing calamity is about to befall them. 25 But when [man's soul] reaches the throat, 26 And men say: Where is the wizard (who can save him now)? 27 and he realises that the hour of parting is come, 28 And the leg is wound about the leg, 29 that will be the time to be driven to one's Lord. 30
