He Frowned ('Abasa)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ HE FROWNED AND turned away, 1 Because there came unto him a blind man. 2 And what should teach thee? Perchance he would cleanse him, 3 Or be admonished, so that the admonition might have profited him? 4 Yet you pay attention 5 To him do you address yourself. 6 What does it matter to you if he will not become pure (from disbelief, you are only a Messenger, your duty is to convey the Message of Allah). 7 But as to him who came to thee striving earnestly, 8 And whereas he fears, 9 you ignore him. 10 No indeed, this is a Reminder; 11 Let him who will, pay heed to it. 12 On honourable pages. 13 exalted and purified, 14 by the hands of the noble, virtuous, 15 Who are noble, virtuous. 16 Cursed is man; how disbelieving is he. 17 [Does man ever consider] out of what substance [God] creates him? 18 Of a small seed; He created him, then He made him according to a measure, 19 Then doth He make His path smooth for him; 20 Then causeth him to die, and burieth him; 21 Then, when it is His Will, He will raise him up (again). 22 Nay, but [man] has never yet fulfilled what He has enjoined upon him! 23 Let man reflect on the food he eats. 24 We poured down rain abundantly, 25 Then We cracked the earth open under pressure (of germination) 26 Thereby produced grain in it. 27 grapes, and fresh fodder, 28 and olives, and palms, 29 thickly planted gardens, 30 fruits, and grass. 31 as provision for you and for your cattle to enjoy. 32 And when the Blast shall sound, 33 on that Day each person will flee from his brother, 34 And his mother and his father, 35 and from his spouse and his children: 36 for on that day everyone will be completely engrossed in his own concerns. 37 Some faces on that day shall shine 38 Laughing, rejoicing. 39 And many will be dust-begrimed, 40 o'erspread with darkness -- 41 Such will be the Kafarah (disbelievers in Allah, in His Oneness, and in His Messenger Muhammad (Peace be upon him), etc.), the Fajarah (wicked evil doers). 42
