The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ Prosperous are the believers, 1 those who are humble in their prayer; 2 those who turn away from all that is frivolous; 3 Who are active in deeds of charity; 4 And who guard their private organs. 5 Except with those joined to them in the marriage bond, or (the captives) whom their right hands possess,- for (in their case) they are free from blame, 6 whereas such as seek to go beyond that [limit] are truly transgressors; 7 and who preserve their trusts and their covenant 8 And those who strictly guard their (five compulsory congregational) Salawat (prayers) (at their fixed stated hours). 9 These are the heirs 10 Who shall inherit Paradise; therein they shall be abiders. 11 Verily We created man from a product of wet earth; 12 and then We cause him to remain as a drop of sperm in [the wombs] firm keeping, 13 Then We made the Nutfah into a clot (a piece of thick coagulated blood), then We made the clot into a little lump of flesh, then We made out of that little lump of flesh bones, then We clothed the bones with flesh, and then We brought it forth as another creation. So blessed be Allah, the Best of creators. 14 And then, behold! after all this, you are destined to die; 15 Then you will be raised up again on the Resurrection Day. 16 And We have created above you seven layered heavens, and never have We been of [Our] creation unaware. 17 And we send down from the sky water in measure, and We give it lodging in the earth, and lo! We are Able to withdraw it. 18 And We brought forth for you thereby gardens of palm trees and grapevines in which for you are abundant fruits and from which you eat. 19 We have also created for you the tree that grows on Mount Sinai which produces oil and relish for those who use it. 20 You have a lesson in livestock. We provide you with drink from what is in their bellies, and you have many other benefits from them; some of them you eat, 21 and are carried on them and also on ships. 22
