The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ When the Event will come to pass 1 Then none will be able to deny its occurrence. 2 It will abase some and exalt others. 3 When the earth is shaken 4 And the mountains are broken down, crumbling 5 So that they will become floating dust particles. 6 On that day, you (mankind) will be divided into three groups: 7 So those on the right – how (fortunate) are those on the right! 8 And the People on the Left: and how miserable will be the People on the Left! 9 and the Outstrippers: the Outstrippers 10 Who will be honoured 11 In gardens of tranquility; 12 a large group of the early believers, 13 and a few from later times. 14 On thrones decorated, 15 Reclining on them, facing one another. 16 Round about them will (serve) youths of perpetual (freshness), 17 Cups and decanters, beakers full of sparkling wine, 18 Wherefrom they get no aching of the head nor any madness, 19 they will also go about them with the fruits of which they may choose, 20 And the flesh of fowls, any that they may desire. 21 And (there will be) Companions with beautiful, big, and lustrous eyes,- 22 like hidden pearls, 23 as reward for their deeds. 24 There they shall hear no idle talk nor any sinful speech. 25 but only the tiding of inner soundness and peace. 26 And the fellows on the right hand; how be happy shall the fellows on the right hand be! 27 Among thorn-less lote-trees. 28 Among Talh trees with flowers (or fruits) piled one above another,- 29 Lengthened shadows, 30 By water flowing constantly, 31 And fruit abundant. 32 Neither ending nor forbidden. 33 And raised couches; 34 Lo! We have created them a (new) creation 35 Then We have made them virgins, 36 chaste, loving companions of the same age 37 for the people of the right hand 38
